Sword Introduces Oshkosh® HET M1070 A1 with M1000 Trailer

Berea, Ohio USA:  4/5/10 – Sword Precision Scale Models today announced their newest museum quality scale model, the Oshkosh Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) M1070 A1 with M1000 Trailer.  Originally introduced by TWH Collectibles, the model project has been transferred to Sword Models.  “TWH kicked off this project and we are very excited that Sword Models has picked up the program,” said John Hemken, CEO of TWH Collectibles. 

The diecast scale model set includes the HET M1070 A1 8x8 heavy tractor unit along with the M1000 multi-axle steerable tank transport trailer.  The model is made in 1:50 scale, which is very close to O-Scale in the model train collector’s world. 

The Oshkosh HET is an advanced military transport system with a gross combined weight of 12,000 lbs.  Built to quickly deploy battle tanks, fighting and recovery vehicles, armored vehicles, construction equipment and other large equipment, it dominates whatever terrain it faces.  For enhanced maneuverability, the first and last axles steer independently so the HET can take equipment wherever battles demand. The HET 8-wheel drive tractor features a 700 horsepower engine, central tire inflation for all-terrain mobility, a 6-person cab for crew transport and extra space for supplies.

Only 1000 of these models will be produced in the first run, insuring their interest to collectors worldwide.  The models will be available in three colors; desert tan (375 pieces), military camouflage (375 pieces) and civilian black and green colors (250 pieces).  The truck and trailer models are packaged together with three different configuration options available for the collector to choose from: the HET model alone, HET model with HEMTT vehicle load and/or HET model with M1 Abrams Tank model load.  The HET model is scheduled for delivery in July of 2010.  

Sword Models are extremely realistic and are sized to a perfect 1:50 scale. They include engine detail, opening doors, interior details, correct decorations and labeling, underside details, hoses and clamps, wires and mirrors. The models are made completely from diecast metal material (no plastic) and are targeted at adult collectors for desktop or shelf display. They are created using the original manufacturer’s designs, drawings and input. They are also measured and detailed by an internal project staff and approved by OEM engineers to insure absolute perfection in their presentation and attention to detail.
